David and Karen's Parent Profile.

David and Karen's Parent Profile.

Hello, our names are David and Karen. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and our family.

We know that this is a very difficult decision and we want to let you know how courageous you are for considering adoption for your baby. We are happy that you are giving us the opportunity to show you how much love and joy we have to offer a child.

We met and fell in love eleven years ago. Our marriage is based on deep love, respect, admiration, communication and the ability to laugh at each other, life and ourselves. Since we’ve been married, we have hoped and dreamed of starting a family. As our parents did, we will love, nurture, and support our children with all of our energy.

We are each other’s best friend and enjoy many interests including all kinds of sports, music, rollerblading, bicycle riding, walking along the river, camping, and playing in clay.
We live in a family-oriented neighborhood. Fortunately, we live outside of a major metropolitan city that has many areas of recreation. There are many parks, museums, an aquarium, concert halls, sports stadiums as well as libraries and playgrounds.

We live on a beautiful, quiet street full of families and kids of all ages. Our patio and three acres is home for gatherings and barbecues. We usually have impromptu games in our backyard. We live close to the elementary school. They have nursery and kindergarten as well as grades one thru six.

Even when we are indoors, we never lack for something creative to do. Whether it is playing board games, listening to music, dancing, doing pottery, or hosting movie night with our family and friends, we are always enjoying ourselves.

Family
Our family is the most important part of our life. We live close to David’s parents and Karen’s mom. We see them often and they are looking forward to being grandparents.

We visit Karen’s dad at least once a year, or he comes out to stay with us. Karen carries her love for her dad around with her everyday and he is anxiously waiting for us to become parents. He is so looking forward to being a grandfather and has said that Karen would be a great mother. Every time we talk to him, he asks how soon he will get to meet his grandchild.
Our nephews, nieces, and all of our friend’s children can’t wait to have a new cousin and friend to play with. We have so many pictures and drawings that they have made for their new playmate. We look forward to providing a child with the same happiness and love that we have experienced as children and still experience as adults.

David by Karen
David is the most thoughtful, loving, patient, and supportive person I have ever known. He is also very compassionate and encouraging. To me, he is my gift from above. He is always able to bring out the best in anyone because he is a great listener and has such a positive attitude. He always sees the bright side in any situation while bringing a degree of partnership with me in any problem solving circumstance. Both kids and adults are drawn to him.

He had fun with kids everywhere, if he is in a store and there is a child upset he makes the cutest chipmunk sound and turns tears to smiles. I have always said that if a person loves people, they have a kind heart, and David has that. David is gentle, fun loving, and a good provider and I have always known that he would make a wonderful daddy. David is a business owner and an Industrial Hygienist. He has operated a financially successful business for over 12 years.
He is looking forward to the freedom he has with his schedule to have lots of time to be a dad.

He is well respected by all of his peers for both his knowledge and caring personality and his ability to make everyone feel at ease. His hard work and dedication have afforded him a lot of vacation time and he will definitely be a very involved dad. He has so many hobbies and interests and I think a child would benefit from all that he knows. David is a big sports enthusiast. We go to baseball games all the time. He has several passions including music, reading, camping, cycling, and the outdoors.
David has many close friends from childhood. Whenever we baby-sit for their children, David is always right there in the middle coloring and playing games with them. He always makes sure they are happy and having fun. He is very engaging and playful with the little ones and I know they feel safe and secure with him.

Our friend’s, along with their children, are considered our extended family. They are always calling David for opinions because they know that he is always genuinely concerned about everyone. That is how I know that our child’s happiness and well-being will be his greatest priority.

Karen by David
Karen is the sweetest most compassionate person I have ever known. From the moment I met her, I felt that I have known her all of my life. In any difficult situation, Karen is always the first one to help when others would walk away. She always cares, regardless of the circumstances and wants to do whatever she can to help. One of her greatest attributes is her commitment to friends and family. Whether it is a card, e-mail, or phone call to a friend or family member in need or planning get-togethers, she is always concerned about their well-being. Karen truly loves kids. Wherever we are she always stops to play and laugh with them.
I love watching Karen’s face as her smile lights up the sky. She is a very energetic, athletic, and creative person. She loves to paint, play guitar, visit art museums, (she is a Van Gogh fan!), cycle, go to the gym, and work with clay. She also loves to take pictures and organize scrapbooks. She is the one at all of the family outings with the camera. Our friends always know that wherever we are and at whatever event, Karen will be the one taking the pictures and capturing the memories. In addition to her creative side, she has an intense love for animals, and has found homes for many homeless animals. Just this last year she helped to set up a non-profit to take care of Wild Mustangs that required supplemental feeding because of the drought

She has volunteered with Civitan for over 10 years and raises money for different non-profits, while being the founder of her own. Her heart is as big as her smile. She is a very generous person and that is something that all of her friends will attest to. She is the first one they turn to in times of need.
During the day, Karen works part-time from the house, for a conservation-oriented company as a Biologist and outreach coordinator, working with teachers to bring their kids to the outdoors and to teach them about the science of nature. She spends time with the kids and delights in showing them close up bugs, plants, with her playing naturally becomes learning. She is very soothing and caring with children, they are drawn to her. One of the cutest things is seeing a child come running at her full tilt to give her a hug!

Most of Karen’s work is done from our home as a sought after independent contractor, although we have arranged our finances in such a manner that it is not necessary for her to work. She is able to design her own work hours.

Karen is planning and looking forward to taking an extended leave of absence once we have extended our family with the adoption of that special little one. At the end of her leave, she plans to work from home, and will organize her work schedule to provide a loving and nurturing environment. This is her first priority. I cannot wait to see Karen as a mother; I know she’ll make a very special one.

Thank you for getting to know us as you make this very difficult decision. We promise that if you decide to honor us with your child, please know that we will love him or her unconditionally. Your child will feel cherished, safe and loved and will always know how special you are and about the loving choice, you made. We will be forever grateful for the lifelong gift you have brought into our lives. We would be happy to share pictures and letters as your child grows. We hope we have been able to give you an idea of who we are and the love we have in our hearts for each other and for a child.

You are in our thoughts and prayers,

Karen and David
